Having lots of fun
March 15, 2012 By Gail This kayak has proved to be a lot of fun for my family. It is easy to use, easy to inflate. We have two of these kayaks and we went on a 4 mile tour through mangroves. Read more
Nice starter kayak,

This product just arrived the other day and I have taken it out twice so far. I live in the St Petersburg area of Florida and have used it at Fort DeSoto State Park, in and around the mangroves. The product arrived in a smaller box than I anticipated and I inflated it using a Coleman rechargeable air pump I bought at Walmart for $25. It stretches to over 13 feet in length when fully inflated and the entire process took about 10 minutes. I have been in canoes before and taken a rigid kayak out a few times so I was eager to see how this performed on the water. It was a little awkward "falling" into it at launch just do the position of the craft and the low center of gravity. The kayak is very stable and easy to navigate. The paddles are not the best quality but they are lightweight and held up fine for me. In my opinion, they should be about a foot longer as you will get wet taking them while paddling. No big deal, I can buy other paddles but these worked great. I was concerned about this craft blowing all around in the wind but was pleasantly surprised at how well it kept its intended course. I paddled for a little over 2 hours and no waves breached the hull, there were no issues with it feeling tippy or bulky and it tracked concisely through the water. My suggestions for improvement would be to add an additional storage net or console behind the rear seat. I went out solo and if you use the front net, there is no way to get to it unless you get out of the vessel. Also, the cupholder is a good idea when you see it, but the placement of it ensures that whatever small cup actually will fit inside it will get soaked due to the paddling position. Of course, wear a bathing suit and expect your bottom to get wet, but for the money and fun factor, this is a great item.Read More...
